Chow Down Mister

So folks, I wrote a song about Hare Krishna Zombie from Dawn of the Dead to win a copy of the new Day of the Dead Blu Ray from Arrow and just found out I won. Thanks again to the awesome www.cult-labs.com!

Here is the song for all those who want to see it, may even record this at some point!

Chow Down Mister
Hare Rama, Hare Krishna

With tambourine you bang out a song
Your Krishna friends sing along
Outside the Monroeville Shopping Mall
Hare, Hare, Hare

The Living Dead start to circulate
Tripping over your robe seals your fate
Panic sets in as eyes dilate
Hare, Hare, Hare

Chow Down Mister
Hare Rama, Hare Krishna
Chow Down Mister
The Dead will walk the earth

In some sad ironic twist
It’s a zombie nun that bites your wrist
The gods sure know how to take the piss
Hare, Hare, Hare

Chow Down Mister
Hare Rama, Hare Krishna
Chow Down Mister
The Dead will walk the earth

Shuffling through boxes of spam
You raise your rotting greyish hand
A shotgun’s butt ends your plan
Hare, Hare, Hare

Just as Night became the Dawn
A brand new Day rages on
The fight is lost and we never won
Hare, Hare, Hare

Chow Down Mister
Hare Rama, Hare Krishna
Chow Down Mister
The Dead Walk….the earth

Thanks to Mike Christopher (Hare Kirsha Zombie) for his kind words!

Horror Extravaganza - Jekyll & Hyde Pub 14th March 2010

Giovanni Lombardo Radice and Darth Elvis

What an awesome night! I was lucky enough to get the chance to meet David Hess (Last House on the Left, House on the Edge of the Park) and Giovanni Lombardo Radice (City of the Living Dead, Cannibal Ferox)at this night run by Cult Fiction Movies and The Jekyll and Hyde pub in Edinburgh. Sadly didn't get to meet Catriona McColl (City of the Living Dead, The Beyond) who was also in attendance. Hope I get the opportunity to meet with her in future!

Each of the stars did a short Q&A where we got the chance to ask each of the stars about their movie experiences, working with Wes Craven and Fulci etc. I got the chance to ask David Hess the first question and couldn't resist asking whether he'd ever met Elvis given that he wrote All Shook Up amongst other songs for the King! What Star Wars themed Elvis impersonator would give up this opportunity. Sadly David never met the King of Rock n Roll, but what an amazing accolade!

There is rumours of another similar night close to Halloween and I for one cannot wait!!!!

Total Film - Letter of the Month

Picked up last months Total Film and was shocked to see not only was my letter printed but that I also managed to get Letter of the Month. I'm now the lucky recipient of a DVD of Jennifers Body!

Here is what my letter was all about -

Why why why has the latest George Romero zombie flick bypassed the cinemas in this country altogether! I am a huge fan of all George's previous zombie movies and although most of the reviews for his new installment in the dead series I've read have said it's poor, I think the British public should get the chance to see Survival of the Dead on the big screen!

I will most certainly be buying the Blu Ray of the movie in March when it is released but I want the opportunity to see the film in my local indie cinema! If only Jim'll Fix it was around still he would be getting a letter from me to set this up!

Rant over.

Greig Robertson
Bonnyrigg

I now have the Blu Ray and having watched it would give the film 3.5 stars out of 5. The movie has some great moments, but is let down by poor CGI and some poor acting. I just hope and pray we get another zombie movie from Romero than rekindles the magic of Night, Dawn and Day!
